The following is a conversation had between a mother and her son. This is a REAL message, taking place throughout the course of 2 hours on Sun. Jan. 30, 2011. Please, comments with any thoughts, questions, or advice... will be appreciated.
Mom: Ur dad has called you several times

Son: What's up?

Mom: Well, your dad just can't believe he don't know what's going on with you. I told him that's the way you want it. Can you talk to him?

Mom: WELL?

Son: Of course! Tell him to call.

Mom: y didn't u answer or try to call him back?
(5:27)
Son: I been asleep. I had to get up early for a meeting about studying abroad and I took a nap when I got back.

Mom: Yea well I think u need to discuss that situation....whether u believe it or not...
(5:31)
Son: What do u mean? Tell him to call and I will. You both overreact so much...I'm in college starting my life.
(5:33)
Mom: U know what, (name)? u aren the only person in this family and im so SICK of ur inconsiderate ways since u have started college and oh starting us life...well it ain't just u boy...i dont know who the frick is coaching u but they have no family matter

Son: I'm not being inconsiderate mom...I took a nap

Mom: To them....and if its just ur own thoughts...well where did we go wrong

Son: U don't ever text me unless ur bitching me out. Maybe that has something to do with it

Mom: Not what im talking about...so where was this meeting at...on sunday...teachers don't work on sunday

Mom: U bring it on....
(5:40)
Son: In the ("building") at 830 this morning. It wasn't a teacher it was whoever was over the program. (5:41)
Mom: U know it's not bitching u out...ur favorite word...u just don't want to hear truth from our side...when u realize its part of our responsibility as ur parents to.

Mom: Be involved things may be different...

Son: I just realized it now let's see things change

Mom: Whats the rude awakening all of a sudden...? U know we wont be around forever...then u will really see what u missed going on the way u have and i hope u can go

Mom: On...then maybe by then u will have connected with ur biological family and they will be there for u

Mom: I just don't know anymore

Son: I will never even feel the need to change with u talking down to me

Mom: Then its only words...just like that crying phone call u made to me...nothing changed...choices...(6:22)
Son: I love you. U just gotta improve too. It's not just me.

Mom: Just to show u im not gonna come back like i should....because if u have heart and soul u know all what u have done...and yes i haven't been able to get past.

Mom: All the hurt and i love u doesn't do it....barriers are deeper

Son: I do want you to be better for you its just hard because all u do is push! You don't understand that children grow up! But i am learning and doing so much better! I want my mom back. I want u to stop hating me for the wrong I've done and be proud of me for how I'm improving

Mom U live one way there and still lie about it here...so we just really don't know it...
